A Practical Vision for Eagle River. Real Values. Real Results.
I’m running because Alaskans deserve leaders who listen, work together, and get things done. My priorities are simple: strong schools, safe communities, and a responsible budget that protects the future for Alaska families and businesses.

Education
Alaska families deserve schools that are funded predictably and held accountable for results. I support stable BSA funding tied to clear outcomes, career and technical training, and local flexibility so Eagle River and Anchorage students get the education they need to succeed.

Growing Alaska Jobs
Small businesses and the trades are the backbone of our economy. I will cut red tape, speed up permitting, and support responsible development that creates opportunity from Eagle River to rural Alaska.

Responsible Budget
Alaska must live within its means. I will work to ensure core services like education, safety, and infrastructure are stable and functional before adding new programs. Responsible spending now protects the PFD and ensures long-term stability.

Infrastructure
Alaskans rely on safe, well-maintained roads and reliable utilities. I will prioritize fixing what we have and new projects, focusing on the Glenn Highway, local roads, and critical infrastructure that keeps families and businesses moving.

Meet Ruby & Her Family
Ruby Jones was born and raised in Bird Creek and is now raising her own family in Eagle River. She’s a lifelong Alaskan who believes leadership should look a lot like life here: hard work, accountability, and community.
As Director of Operations at SafeLogic Alaska, Ruby leads a statewide team that supports safety, construction, and workforce training across every corner of the state. Her work takes her from Anchorage schools and job sites to rural Alaska projects, giving her firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities that shape Alaskans’ everyday lives.
Before moving into business and safety, Ruby worked in the television and film industry as a producer for National Geographic’s Life Below Zero. That experience taught her what every Alaskan already knows, that our state’s strength lies in its people, their self-reliance, and their ability to adapt and overcome.
Ruby’s priorities are straightforward: strengthen and make education more accountable, keep our communities safe, support responsible resource development, and ensure working families can afford to live and thrive here. She believes government should be practical, transparent, and focused on results — not politics.
At home, Ruby and her partner, Dan, are raising their daughters, Winona Mae and Suzanne Rose. Winona just started kindergarten, and Suzanne turned two this past October. Dan owns and operates Bayer Builders, a general contracting company that serves communities from Big Lake to Dillingham.
Outside of work, Ruby finds balance in Alaska’s mix of adventure and creativity. She enjoys skiing and hiking with her family, tending her garden, baking, and restoring her family’s geodesic dome home. She loves the creativity and craftsmanship in things built to last, a reflection of her belief that Alaska’s future is strongest when we take care of what we’ve built together.
